Tsirang is home to primarily the Lhosthampa ethnic group along with resettled communities from other parts of Bhutan. It is noted for its gentle slopes, mild climates, high quality mandarin oranges, and organic farming. The dzongkhag is also noted for its rich biodiversity; however, it is one of the few dzongkhags without a protected area. One of Bhutan’s longest rivers, the Punatsang Chhu or Sankosh river flows through the district. Although largely unexplored by tourists, Tsirang is a great destination if you want to experience the authentic lives of farming communities and the Lhosthampa culure through farmhouse stays.
